The Dashwood Volunteer Fire Department
 Head Shave for Cancer

The Head Shave
Sunday April 25, 2010.

It began five years ago and was the idea of one of our volunteers who wanted to honour his family members who had survived cancer, remember some who unfortunately did not, and to raise awareness in the community that anyone can help fight the disease. In the last four head shaves we have raised over $26,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

To this we are adding another $8523 from 27 heads that were shaved and with there pledge donations making a grand total of $34,523

The fire department has had tremendous support from its members, their friends and families and the local community. In 2010 we are encouraging a far larger participation from as many as we can. We hope to have participation from all of the areas fire departments, emergency organizations, any groups or individuals that can get involved
