Hydrant Equivalence Project

This is a long term project to achieve what is known as Superior Shuttle Accreditation. This involves setting up water storage supply tanks at selected locations where there is no fire hydrant service available. In order to get this accreditation we must be able to supply a minimum of 220 Igpm for at least two hours.

To date we have been lucky enough to have had donated four tanks from the Crofton Pulp Mill and the only cost being that of transportation to Dashwood.

How does this effect property the owners? It can ultimately mean a saving of 30 – 50% on each resident’s fire insurance.

Donation from Crofton Pulp Mill of four vessels for water storage that will be used in the future for assisting in obtaining Hydrant Equivalences.

It is anticipated that this project will take about 5 years to complete.
